Terms of Service

Delivery Schedule:

Bruin Laundry will pick up customer's laundry bag outside their door on the designated pick up date for their respective dormitory.  See pick up schedule on Bruin Laundry website (click here).  

If a customer lives in the dormitory, simply leave your Bruin Laundry bag outside your door during your schedule pickup time and a member of the delivery team will pick it up.  The next day in accordance with the specified drop off schedule your bag will be returned right to your door.  Delivery personnel will knock/buzz or ring a customer's door, however returned clean laundry will be left outside your door secured within the Bruin Laundry bag.  A text message will be sent to every customer who is not home during the scheduled drop off time to serve as confirmation that he/she's laundry was returned

If a customer lives in a private home or apartment complex, he/she must bring their bag outside to the delivery personnel during pickup scheduled pickup times, and retrieve their bag from delivery personnel during scheduled drop off times.  Customers will receive a text message within their designated delivery window indicating that a member of the Bruin Laundry delivery team is outside their residence.  Delivery personnel will wait a reasonable amount of time, but if text messages are left unanswered, customers will need to call the Bruin Laundry support line to reschedule a new pickup time, or a time to collect their laundry.

Pickup and delivery will occur each week according to schedule.  Bruin Laundry reserves the right to reschedule such times upon prior notice to customers via a text message and/or email correspondence.  Any changes will be updated to the website accordingly in a timely fashion.

Pick Up and Delivery, Procedure and Terms:

Bruin Laundry will provide the customer with a laundry bag and identification tags after full payment has been received and processed and before the first scheduled pick up.  Late signups will receive laundry bag and identification tags at least 2 days prior to the next available pickup after payment has been processed.  Bruin Laundry will not pick up items that are not secured in a Bruin Laundry bag that is clearly identified with Bruin Laundry identification tag.  No bag may be filled to a level that prevents easy drawstring closure.  The bags we provide have capacity for well in excess of a weeks supply of laundry, and Bruin Laundry will not be liable for bags that are overstuffed or cannot safely and securely be closed.  The customer agrees not to include any of the following that are in or attached to any of the items to be cleaned or inside any of the customer's garment bags: (i) non-washable items, (ii) items that are labeled for hand washing and/or dry-cleaning only, or (iii) any other items not meant for laundering or dry-cleaning. The customer is responsible for any and all damage caused by any items left in the customer's clothing or garment bag that cause damage to the clothing of any customer, the cleaning machines, or any other property of Bruin Laundry or its customers. Bruin Laundry is not responsible for, and shall not pay for, any loss, damage or theft of items left unattended by the customer for pickup or delivery.

Payment:

All plan payments must be received via credit card/debit card/cash or check prior to first service.  A credit card will be kept on file only for the purposes of our a la cart dry cleaning plans.  All payments for dry cleaning will be processed the day the dry cleaning is delivered.

Cancellation:

While we try our very best to satisfy every customer, some customers may choose to cancel their service.  Bruin Laundry will honor all cancellations subject to a $20 cancellation fee and prorated to account for laundry costs incurred servicing a customers laundry up to the date of service cancellation.  All refunded amounts will be issued via the same payment method the plan was originally purchased.

Inventory Sheets:

Inventory sheets for each pickup and drop off are available for the sole purpose of keeping track of clothing provided to Bruin Laundry.  All information provided on the inventory sheets by the customer shall be accurate in every way and must reflect the full list of items included in a customer’s Bruin Laundry bag.  Bruin Laundry will not be responsible for any items not listed on the inventory sheet.  Should a discrepancy arise between what is listed on any inventory sheet and the actual items left in the bag, Bruin Laundry reserves the right change the inventory sheet and, based on a careful examination, make the final determination about the actual contents of the bag without notice to the customer. The customer hereby consents to any such changes. Bruin Laundry does not consent to the accuracy of any inventory sheet completed by the customer.

Garment Care:

Bruin Laundry and its affiliates will use reasonable efforts to maintain a high quality laundry cleaning service.  Bruin Laundry accepts no liability for damages due to normal cleaning of items without care instructions, and accepts no liability for items treated in accordance with the care labels or other instructions provided.  Customer agrees to only place in laundry items that are intended for machine wash and dry, and does not assume any liability for items placed within customers bag that have special care instructions.  Bruin Laundry is not responsible for clothing bleeding, shrinking, or otherwise changing as a result of normal washing procedures.  Bruin Laundry will use best efforts to remove items left in pockets, but gives no guarantees that items left in clothing pockets will be identified and removed.   Bruin Laundry reserves the right to refuse to clean any garment, and does not guarantee the removal of all stains.  Bruin Laundry is not responsible for loss of or damage to any personal or non-cleanable items left in the clothing or garment bags such as money, jewelry, or any other item. The customer agrees not to leave such items in its clothing or in its garment bags.

Loss or Damage:

In the rare instance that your garment is lost or damaged by Bruin Laundry, a refund or credit will be issued for the value of that garment, as specified in the National Fair Claims Guide from the International Fabricare Institute ("IFI"). This guide takes into account the average life of the garment, depreciation for the age of the item, and the current replacement cost. If the customer is unable to document the age of a garment, the customer can attest to the age but Bruin Laundry, in its sole discretion, may limit the minimum age of any garment to one year. If no current replacement cost is available (e.g., because the item is no longer available in stores), Bruin Laundry may use the replacement cost of a comparable item currently available. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the maximum reimbursement for each individual item is $200 and the maximum total reimbursement per customer is $750. Although Bruin Laundry is not liable for damage or loss due to the fault of its third-party cleaners or service providers, we may, in our sole discretion, chose to reimburse the customer in these events pursuant to the IFI standards described above.

We are not liable for any preexisting damage to garments. If we find any preexisting damage or have a concern about the colorfastness, or the age or weakness of the fabric, we will contact you to obtain your approval before proceeding to care for the item. If we are unable to obtain your authorization in a timely manner, then we may return the item without cleaning it. We are also not liable for any damage caused by the customer placing dry-cleaning in a laundry bag, or laundry in a dry-cleaning bag.

Damaged or missing items must be reported to us within three (3) days of delivery of the item(s). If you believe that Bruin Laundry is in possession of an item but we have no record of its pickup, we request that you inform us immediately so we can start an investigation and you can search at home. If, after seven (7) days, the item has not been found, we may compensate you for the loss of the item in accordance with the IFI guide, at our discretion.

Use of Third-Party Service Providers:

Bruin Laundry and its affiliates will deliver customers laundry and dry cleaning to service to laundry providers from time to time.  Bruin Laundry reserves the right to outsource the dry cleaning and laundering of its customers services to vendors of its choosing in its sole discretion without providing any notice to the customer.  Bruin Laundry is not responsible for, and will not be held liable for, any damage or loss due to the acts or omissions of its vendors, third party outsourcers, or service providers.

In no event will Bruin Laundry be held liable or be responsible for any consequential, special, indirect, incidental or punitive loss or damages, whether or not Bruin Laundry knew or should have known of the likelihood of any such loss or damages. Bruin Laundry disclaims all warranties, express or implied, with respect to the services rendered to the customer.
